Susannah Quick Notes

Susannah, by Candice F. Ransom, is Sunfire #2.

Susannah Front Cover (credit: Danny Crouse)

You can tell how much I loved this book…the cover is a little extra worn! Susannah’s face is the worse for the wear. I actually think I owned this book before Amanda.

Front cover blurb: Everything is gone…her home, her family, her past. All that is left is a forbidden love.

Back cover blurb: The South that raised her was at war, while Susannah’s own battle raged in her heart…

Main character: Susannah Dellinger. 16 years old, long auburn hair, eyes are purple-tinged grey, “like autumn smoke.”

Setting: End of Civil War, Virginia, 1864

Suitor #1: Evan Jones. Black hair, black eyes, Confederate soldier. Best friend of Susannah’s brother Robert, and childhood friend of Susannah. Brother of Garnet Jones.

Suitor #2: Caine Harding. Blond hair, green eyes, Union soldier.

On the cover: in the middle, Susanna Dellinger. On the left in Confederate uniform, Evan Jones. On right in Union uniform, Caine Harding. Instead of showing a miniature of the girl with a suitor, the minis for this book show soldiers. Do we think the cover portrays Susannah’s famous white Christmas ball gown, where she first caught Evan’s romantic interest?

Back cover for Susannah

I firmly believe that the back cover shows Garnet Jones.

  1. Thank you for posting all of this. I loved these books and this one was my favorite. I’ve been searching to find this book and I couldn’t remember the name of it. Thanks again!
